Guytron GT-100 Sound Samples
These samples are kindly provided by Chris Delis, an in-demand NYC guitarist. Chris has appeared on Broadway in RENT, Tommy, HairSpray, Footloose, Aida, The Full Monty, Movin' Out and Xanadu as one of the guitar 'seats'. He is a very talented artist in his own right, and has released a fantastic solo CD called "On The Brink" on CD Baby which you can purchase by clicking either of these links, depending on whether you want a CD or individual MP3s."Chris Delis on Apple iTunes store" . We are very proud of the fact that for most of the songs on this album Chris used his Guytron GT100. Chris also gigs around the tri-state area performing his own music.

Guytron GT-100 Sound Samples

Chris has provided us with some details regarding the clips below which we share here: The amp is the GT100 Xmod. The speaker cab used is a 2x12 THD cab with Celestion Classic 80 speakers. The 1x12 cabinet used is an early 80's Mesa Boogie Thiele design with a Celestion 25W Greenback. I used three guitars: my '74 Fender Strat with DiMarzio Virtual Vintage Pickups and my '98 PRS McCarty with stock pickups, strung with Ernie Ball's, .010-.046, and a Tom Anderson Alder Classic. All the drums are standard loops from Sonic Foundry's Acid software program with the exception of the Thrill Is Tron and Long Tron Running which are midi sequences. The bass used is an Ibanez Roadstar. I close mic'd the cabinet is with a Shure SM57 through a Mackie 1402. From there I used an FMR RNC compressor just to limit the signal and not overload my recorder, a Roland VS1680. No eq was used and I added some plate reverb. The volume was pretty low. The settings I use for the most part are as follows: 12 would be 12 o'clock, etc... A Channel Gain 1-3 , Tone 1-3, Level 2, B Channel Gain 12-2, Tone 12-2 Level 2, Master section Volume 10, Treble 7-8, Midrange 10, Bass 10, Presence 10-12. Keep in mind on some of the samples I was changing the guitar volume to show the response of the amp. It really varies with the guitar, player and cab.
